A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD ORDERING THE VACATION AND
ABANDONMENT FOR PUBLIC PURPOSES OF THE FIRST
ALLEY SOUTH OF MARTIN LUTHER KING BOULEVARD
BETWEEN ERNESTINE AVENUE AND THE WESTERLY
PROPERTY LINE OF LOT 122 AS SHOWN ON THE TRACT MAP
NO. 15209 IN THE CITY OF LYNWOOD, COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES,
STATE OF CALIFORNIA, MAP BOOK 319, PAGES 11 -13 OF MAPS
IN THE OFFICE OF THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY RECORDER
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood did, on
the 5th day of November, 1996, adopt Resolution No. 96 -172,
declaring its intention to vacate the first alley south of Martin
Luther King Boulevard between Ernestine Avenue and the westerly
property line of Lot 122, Tract Map 15209 in the City of Lynwood,
as hereinafter described; and
WHEREAS, notices of said vacation have been published
and posted in the time, form, and manner required by law; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing on the matter was held on the
seventeenth day of December, 1996, as prescribed by law.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Lynwood as follows:
Section 1 . That the following described alley
easement is unnecessary for present or prospective public use, and
that the public interest, necessity and convenience require that
the City Council of said City hereby order the vacation and
abandonment of said alley easement.
Being a portion of Tract No. 15209, in the City of Lynwood, County
of Los Angeles, State of California, Map Book 319, page 11 -13 in
the office of the Los Angeles County Recorder, more specifically
described as follows:
Beginning at the southwest corner of Lot 122 thence 194.61'
N19 24'50 "E along the westerly line of said Lot to the True Point
of Beginning. Thence 320.99' S70 35'10 "E to the easterly line of
Lot 127; thence 20' N19 25'53 "E along the easterly line of Lot 127;
thence 321.00' to the westerly line of Lot 122; thence 20'
S19 24'50 "W along the westerly line of Lot 122 to the True Point of
Beginning.
Section 2 . The City Council of the City of Lynwood
does hereby determine that the public convenience and necessity
require that an easement be retained for construction and
maintenance of utility lines within the limits of the alley
vacation as described in Section 1.
Section 3 . That the City Clerk of the City of Lynwood
shall cause a certified copy of said order to be recorded in the
office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County.
Section 4 . This resolution shall take effect
immediately upon its adoption.
