HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 82-21051 RESOLUTION NO. 82 -2105 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF.THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY COMMENDING BOB WIELAND IN HIS WALK FOR HUNGER FOR HIS .UNSELFISH HUMANITARIAN SERVICE WHEREAS, Bob Wieland will walk 3,000 on his hands from Knotts Berry Farm, California, to Washington, D.C., between September, 1982 and January, 1984, in an effort to raise funds for the starving children of the world; and WHEREAS, his dedication and personal commitment has helped him to overcome great physical and emotional handicaps, which serve as an inspiration to all those who view his courage and his determination; and WHEREAS, the pursuit of his dreams will improve human . ser- vices at home and abroad, while fostering good will and pro - moting friendship, and will reinforce the personal commitment in all Americans that nothing can stand in the way of the true American spirit; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY, that it unanimously wishes Bob Wieland the greatest success in his endeavors to raise over $15 million for hunger relief charities.
