HomeMy Public PortalAbout97-029 (03-18-97)RESOLUTION NO. 97-p9 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD ORDERING THE VACATION AND ABANDONMENT FOR PUBLIC PURPOSES THAT PORTION ~ OF BANNING AVENUE EAST OF LINDBERGH AVENUE AS SHOWN ON BLOCK 15 OF THE BELLE-VERNON ACRES IN THE CITY OF LYNWOOD, COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, MAP BOOK 9, PAGE 196 OF MAPS IN THE OFFICE OF THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY RECORDER. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood did, on the 18th day of February, 1997, adopt Resolution No. 97-18, declaring its intention to vacate a portion of Banning Avenue east of Lindbergh Avenue in the City of Lynwood, as hereinafter described; and WHEREAS, notices of said vacation have been published and posted in the time, form, and manner required by law; and WHEREAS, a public hearing on the matter was held on the eighteenth day of March, 1997, as prescribed by law. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lynwood as follows: Section 1. That the following described street easement is unnecessary for present , or prospective public use, and that the public interest, necessity and convenience require that the City Council of said City hereby order the vacation and abandonment of said street easement. That portion of Banning Avenue in Belle-Vernon Acres in the City of Lynwood as recorded in Map Book 9, page 196, Los Angeles County Recorders Office, State of California more specifically described as follows: Beginning at the Northwest corner ofLot 23, Block 15 ofBelle-Vernon Acres, thence 32.78' Ng2~ 27~g along the southerly Right of way line of Banning Avenue (60' wide) to the True Point of Beginning. Thence 60' N7° 33'W to the northerly Right of way line of Banning Avenue; thence 88.65' N82° 27'E along said Northerly Right of way line; thence 86.98' S53° 56'E to said southedy Right of way line; thence 151.62' S82° 27'W along said southerly Right ofway line to the True Point ofBeginning. Sectio~ 2. The City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby deternune that the public convenience and necessity require that an easement be retained for construction and maintenance of utility lines within the limits of the street vacation as described in Section 1. Section 3. That the City Clerk of the City of Lynwood shall cause a certified copy of said order to be recorded in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County. , Section 4.
