RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING STAFF TO SUBMIT AN IOWA DEPARTMENT OF
NATURAL RESOURCES FORESTRY GRANT WITH MATCHING FUNDS
WHEREAS, the City of Riverdale, Iowa ("City") is a municipal corporation, organized and operating under
the laws of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, the City has removed several dead, dying, or dangerous trees and wishes to replace them
with new, healthy trees; and,
WHEREAS, the Iowa Department of Natural Resources' Forestry grant application is open until March 3,
2023; and,
WHEREAS, the Iowa Department of Natural Resources' Forestry grant is a matching grant, meaning that
the City must provide a matching amount to the grant request, such as materials, labor, etc.; and,
WHEREAS, the City wishes to submit an application to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources'
Forestry grant in an amount between $1,000 and $10,000 (per the grant specifications); therefore, the
City's matching obligation would be between $1,000 and $10,000 as well (for materials, labor, etc.); and,
WHEREAS, the funding sources for this action are:
• #001-510-6490 - Community Beautification
• #001-430-6599 - Parks Supplies and Plantings
• #001-650-6490 - City Hall Miscellaneous Expense.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RIVERDALE, IOWA,
THAT:
SECTION 1: Staff is authorized to complete and submit an Iowa Department of Natural Resources'
Forestry grant by March 3, 2023, pledging up to $ �� OC D in matching funds from the
City.
