Sunny Days and Large Crowds Graced Leesburg’s 25th Annual
Flower & Garden Festival
Leesburg, VA (April 20, 2015) – Gardeners and shoppers
got an early start on Saturday, April 18, as crowds filled
the streets of downtown Leesburg for the 25th annual
Flower and Garden Festival presented by Loudoun
Medical Group. The event had great weather with the
rain holding out until Sunday evening. Steady crowds
gathered in the historic district to see the gorgeous
landscape displays, browse over 150 vendors, listen to
live music on the Loudoun County Courthouse grounds
and play in the children’s entertainment area. Overall,
the festival drew an estimated 30,000 visitors
throughout the weekend.
This year’s festival welcomed Mike McGrath, WTOP’s
Garden Editor to their Presentation Stage sponsored by
Leesburg Today and Ashburn Today. McGrath gave two presentations which focused on he althy
ways to treat your lawn and how to grow your best tasting tomatoes. He was informative and
entertaining during his presentations and while answering the audience’s questions.
The most anticipate tradition of this event is the judged landscape competition. This year the
event featured five area landscapers who showcased their best work. Most competitors worked
through the night to produce their masterpieces. The 2015 winners are:
Best Overall Presentation: Main Street Landscape INC, Haymarket, VA
Outstanding Technical Craftsmanship: Deckscapes of Virginia, LLC, Catharpin, VA
Most Creative: The Pond Doctor LLC, Warrenton, VA
People’s Choice: Main Street Landscape INC, Haymarket, VA

The Flower and Garden Festival is Leesburg’s unofficial start to the spring season, so be sure to
