A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LYNWOOD DECLARING SEPTEMBER 14-18
AS RIDESHARING WEEK FOR 1992
~y^~ WHEREAS, there is a need to increase the understanding of
~ _individual commuters regarding transportation alternatives and to
challenge commuters to take responsibility for reducing air
~-'~~-" pollution, traffic congestion, and transportation costs needs by
ridesharing; and

WHEREAS, there is need to educate public and private
business communities throughout California with 100 or more
employees to recognize the need for reducing the number of cars
coming to the worksites; and
WHEREAS, there is the need to encourage Southern
California commuters to complete and return California Rideshare
Week cards, pledging not to drive alone on Thursday,
September 17, 1992, "Keep California Moving Day" during the week of
September 14-18; the Department of Transportation and other
organizations will be observing California Rideshare Week.
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood
does hereby find, determine, order and resolve as follows:
Section 1. That September 14-18 be proclaimed as
Rideshare Week in California and urge all Californians to rideshare
for the economic and environmental health of our state.
Section 2. This resolution becomes effective immediately
upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 1st day of Septemb~r1992.
