BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING
TUESDAY, JANUARY 5, 2016
TOWN HALL, ROOM C
Board members present: Lemuel Skidmore,MS,MPH,Chairman; Carmen Scherzo, DVM,Vice Chairman and Joe Ford
Board members absent: Mary Chaffee,RN,PhD and Annie Dugan
Others present: Nancy Ellis Ice,MPH, CHO,RS,Health Director and Tammi Mason, Senior Department Assistant
1. Chairman's announcements
Mr. Skidmore told the Board that the Health Department budget was approved at the Selectmen's meeting and would be going before
the Finance Committee on February 3`d
2. Oceanside Septic-Title 5 variance requests for 145 Nelson Street
Linda Pinto presented this to the Board. The following variances are requested:
1. To allow the proposed SAS to be 8 feet from a cellar wall
2. To allow the proposed SAS to be 6 feet from a property line
This is a failed system. It is a 3 bedroom home. There will be a liner installed at a 4 foot depth.
Dr. Scherzo asked if the owner had a sump pump in the basement. Ms. Pinto said she did not believe there was one.
Motion: Approve the variance requests as noted on the plan dated 12/18/15
Motion:Joe Ford Second: Dr. Scherzo Vote: 3-0-0 Action: Motion carried
3. Town Counsel review for 33 Old Long Pond Road
Mr. Skidmore reminded the Board of the action they took at the last meeting,which was to deem the property unfit for human
habitation. He stated that this is not a critical situation and it would take some time to look at Town Counsel's review. This will be
placed back on the agenda for the January 19,2016 meeting.
