A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING
INCLUSION OF AREAS OF LYNWOOD FOR
EXPANSION OF THE LYNWOOD PORTION OF THE
GREATER WATTS EMPLOYMENT AND ECONOMIC
INCENTIVE PROGRAM AREA

WHEREAS, on March 20, 1984, the Governor of the State
of California (state) signed AB 514 and subsequent amendments
into law, thereby creating a State Employment and Economic
incentives Program; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors authorized the
Executive Director of the Community Development Commission to
file, on behalf of the County, a Final Application with the City
of Los Angeles under the Status Employment and Economic
Incentive Program for designation of the Greater Watts Employment
and Economic Incentive Program Area; and
WHEREAS, the application was so approved by the
California Department of Commerce for the designation of the
Greater Watts Employment and Economic Incentive Program Area; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood was a co-applier with the
County and City of Los Angeles; and
WHEREAS, a large portion of the City of Lynwood is
designated as part of the Greater Watts Employment and Economic
Incentive Program Area; and
WHEREAS, the Lynwood City Council hereby finds and
determines that it is necessary and essential and a public
purpose to add portions of the City of Lynwood for inclusion in
the Greater Watts Employment and Economic Incentive Program Area
to further help stimulate private sector investments; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood certifies that it will
complete all actions contained in the final application for
expansion, if applicable, that apply to this jurisdiction.
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood,
California does hereby Resolve, Declare, Determine and Order as
follows:
section 1. The City of Lynwood is requesting
expansion of a portion of the Greater Watts Employment and
Economic Incentive Program Area in the City. The expansion area
is shown on the attached map.
Section 2. The City of Lynwood will carry out all
necessary actions required by the California Department of
Commerce to expand the existing portion of the Greater Watts
Employment and Economic Incentive Program Area and does not wish
to independently participate as an applicant for an program area
designation.
Section 3. That the
