A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COU2dCIL OF THE
CITY OF LYNWUOD AOTHORIZING THE
ESTABLISHMENT OF A 'I'ELEPHONF. INFORMATION
LINE AND PURCHASE OF THE COMPLETE ANSWERIIQG
MACHINF. SYSTEM
~' WHEREAS, several community members and City
Council called for improved communications of upcoming Agenda
Items to the public; and
WHEREAS, a telephone information line could
improve communications of upcoming agenda items and current City
services to the public by complementing the current tools being
used for reaching the community; and
WHEREAS, because of the high cost involved in
purchasing a Voice Mail/Auto Attendant, the Complete Answering
Machine, for an estimated amount of $1,800, could provide 24
hour information to interested parties; and
WHEREAS, if City Council decides to purchase a
Voice Mail/Auto Attendant at a later date, the personal computer,
at a cost of $1,000 included in the estimated cost of $1,800,
could be utilized by staff; and
PdOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the City Council authorize staff
to install a telephone information line by purchasing a Complete
p~ Answering Machine and a personal computer at an estimated cost of
Ill $1,800.
SECTION 2: That the City Council appropriate
$1,800 from the general fund reserves for this purchase.
SECTION 3: This resolution shall take effect
immediately upon its adoption.
