Dr. Chaffee stated that 7 Cape towns have this regulation currently. She also spoke about studies done on the danger of second hand smoke. Mr. Skidmore stated that he still firmly believes that this should be done at a Town Meeting or by the Board of Selectmen. Dr.Joe Garfield who originally brought this up to the Board of Health asked that the Board consider extending the ban to the walkways on the marsh because of a fire hazard. Mr. Skidmore believes that there would be no reason for the Board to extend the ban to the walkways since that part is not a"health" issue. The Board agreed. Mr. Skidmore asked the Board to look over the regulation and it will be voted on at the next meeting, 3. Discussion on placement of sun screen dispenser Mrs. Ice told the Board that the County Nurse will be getting a sun screen dispenser for every town. She has asked that the Board determine which beach they would like it to be installed at. Mrs.Ice suggested Long Pond since that is where the Town's swimming lessons are held. Mr.Ford suggested get a population count from the county to determine which beach is busiest. Mrs. Ice will look into that and get the information back to the Board by email.
