A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD SUPPORTING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF
AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TRAFFIC SAFETY EDUCATION
PROGRAM FUNDED BY THE OFFICE OF TRAFFIC
SAFETY.
WHEREAS, the City Council is concerned for the traffic
safety of all residents and especially students in kindergarten
through sixth grades; and
WHEREAS, a grant in the amount of $11,500 from the
Office of Traffic Safety has been awarded to the City to conduct
an elementary school traffic safety education program; and
WHEREAS, grant funds will be reimbursed to the City as
expenditures are made; and
WHEREAS, notification of the grant was not received in
time to include funds to cover grant expenditures in FY 1992-93
budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
Lynwood does hereby find, proclaim, order and resolve as follows:
Section 1. That the City Council fully supports the
implementation of an Elementary School Traffic Education Program.
Section 2. That the Mayor is authorized to execute the
agreement.
Section 3. That the City Manager or his designee is
authorized to make the following appropriation and transfers:

General Fund Traffic Safety Fund
Unappropriated Fund Balance 03-4448-4220
$11,500.00 $11,500.00
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect
immediately upon its adoption.
