A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING
AN APPLICATION FOR DESIGNATION AND INCLUSION IN THE L.A.
REVITALIZATION ZONE AS ESTABLISHED UNDER ASSEMBLY BILL 38X.
WHEREAS, during the civil disturbances which commenced on
April 29, 1992, the City of Lynwood suffered extensive damage as a
result of arson and looting; and
WHEREAS, Assembly Bill 38X, authored by Assemblywoman
Marguerite Archie-Hudson creates a Revitalization Zone in those
geographic areas in Los Angeles County which suffered damage during
the civil disturbances; and
WHEREAS, Lynwood's inclusion in the L.A. Revitalization Zone
would provide considerable benefit in the form of cost saving
incentives to help businesses renew, rebuild and restore their
operations.
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does
hereby resolve as follows:
SECTION 1 That the City Manager is authorized to submit an
application for Lynwood's inclusion in the L.A. Revitalization
Zone, and said application is hereby approved.
SECTION 2 That this resolution shall go into effect
immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of Nov. 1992.
