A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD APPROVING AND AWARDING A CONTRACT TO
CALIFORNIA PAVEMENT MAINTENANCE IN THE AMOUNT OF
$54,510.50, FOR THE SLURRY SEAL PROJECT, VARIOUS
STREETS, FISCAL YEAR 1997-98, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO MAKE THE NECESSARY FUND
, APPROPRIATION AND TRANSFERS
WHEREAS, the Slurry Seal Project Vazious Streets is not listed in the Capital
Improvement Projects for FY 1997-98; and
WHEREAS, the Sluny Seal Project, Vazious Streets will allow thirty-six (36)
local streets to be slurry coated, extending the pavement life an additional 3-5 years; and
WHEREAS, staffhas identified gas tax funds that are available; and
WHEREAS, the bid opening was held on August 27, 1997, and Doug Martin
Contracting Co. Inc., was the lowest bidder at $51,020.25; and
WHEREAS, Doug Martin Contracting Co. Inc., withdrew their bid of $51,020.25;
and
WHEREAS, California Pavement Maintenance was the second lowest responsible
bidder at $54,510.50; and
, WHEREAS, a reference check has revealed that this contractor has the necessary
experience for this type of project.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby find,
proclaim, order and resolve as follows:
Section 1. That the Sluny Seal Project, Various Streets is approved.
Section 2. That the contract for the Slurry Seal Project, Various Streets, be
awarded to California Pavement Maintenance for its low bid of $54,510.50.
Section 3. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the agreement between
the City of Lynwood and California Pavement Maintenance.
Section 4. That the City Manager or his designee is authorized to make the
following fund appropriations and transfers:

Section 5. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
