A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT DONATING
UNIT 500, A USED 1982 E-350 FORD VAN,
LICENSE NUMBER E 776500 TO PROJECT GENESYS
WHEREAS, Unit 500, Unit 501 and Unit 503, three (3) used
Dial-a-Ride vans have been replaced by three new vans; and
WHEREAS, these used vans have been retired and used as back
up vans or replacements for other older City vehicles; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to donate one (1) of the
used Dial-a-Ride van to Project Genesys, a non-profit
organization; and
WHEREAS, Project Genesys agrees to indemnify, hold harmless,
and defend the City from and against all claims, losses and
damages arising out of or relating to the use of the van; and
WHEREAS, Project Genesys certifies that it is exempt from
all state and federal income tax and will maintain that status
during the course of the Agreement; and
WHEREAS, Project Genesys agrees that the van shall not be
used by any religious organization or for any religiously
affiliated activities; and
WHEREAS, Project Genesys agrees to use the van in accordance
to the terms of the Agreement for a period of nine (9) years from
the date of the Agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Lynwood, as follows:
r SECmICN 1. That the City Council authorizes the donation of
Il Unit 500, a used 1982 Ford E-350 Van, to Project Genesys.
SECTION 2. That the City Council authorizes the Mayor to
execute the Agreement with Project Genesys.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its adoption,
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 19th day of January
1993.
