Friends of Leesburg Public Art Sponsor 1st Annual “$50 Friends
5X7 Artworks!” Fundraiser
Leesburg, VA (May 6, 2015) – The first annual “$50 Friends 5x7ArtWorks!” will open on
Thursday, May 14, 2015, from 5:30pm to 7:00pm, with a Patrons Event to preview the artwork.
Tickets may be purchased for the preview for $25 at www.leesburgpublicarts.org.
Over 100 works of art in 5 X 7 format have been donated by area artists and will be exhibited
anonymously. Artwork represents a variety of media and subject matter. Every piece will be
priced at $50. The artwork will go on sale on Saturday, May 16, 2015, from 1:00 to 6:00pm, and
sold on a first come first buy basis, at The Shops at Dodona Manor, 312 East Market Street,
Suite C. Admission to Saturday art sale is free.
Proceeds from 5X7 Artworks! will benefit public arts initiatives in the Town of Leesburg. The
event is the first for the newly reorganized Friends of Leesburg Public Arts (FOLPA) since
merging with the downtown Leesburg Arts and Cultural District Committee.
About Friends of Leesburg Public Arts: Now in its fourth year, the 501(c)3 nonprofit, all-
volunteer organization hosts the annual Leesburg Fine Arts Festival in downtown Leesburg each
fall and supports the Leesburg Commission on Public Art in the development of public arts
initiatives, including a sculpture walk in Raflo Park and a mural on the Town Hall parking garage
at the newest park in downtown, Mervin Jackson Park.
