A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD, A PUBLIC BODY APPROVING A
COMMUNITY HOUSING DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION DESIGNATiON FOR
THE SOUTHEAST LOS ANGELES COUNTY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
CORPORATION PURSUANT TO SECTION 92.2 OF THE HOME IIVVESTMENT
PARTNERSHIP REGULATIONS.
~ WHEREAS, The City of Lynwood has reccived HOME Funds, a federal formula grant
allocation, from the Department of Housing and Urban Developmen[ to carry out certain eligible
affordable housing activities in accordancc with federal program requirements at 24 CFR 92; and
WHEREAS, As a recipient of HOME funds the CiTy of Lynwood is required to reserve not less
that 15% of the total HOME allocation for investment in housing to be devcloped, sponsorcd, or owned
by a Communiry Housing Development Organizations (CHDO); and
WHEREAS, The CHDO must be organized and structured according to the standards provided in
the HOME regulations in order for the organization to be eligible for projcct funding with CHDO set-
aside funds; and
WHEREAS, The Southeast Los Angeles CounTy Community Development Corporation is
requesting designation by the City as a CHDO; and
WHEREAS, the City Council with this resolution is desirous to designate the Southeast Los
Angcles Counry Community Development Corporation as a CHDO provided within 60 days it receivcs a
Recognition of Exemption under section 501(C)(3) by the Intemal Revenue Service at which time the
organization will be in compliance with the HOME/HUD required regulations and eligible to submit a
housing project to City Council for consideration and funding as a CHDO; and
~ NOW, THEREFORE the CiTy Council of the City of Lynwood authorizes approval of a CHDO
Designation for the Southeast Los Angeles Counry Communiry Devclopment Corporation as a CHDO
provided within 60 days it receives a Recognition of Exemption under section 501(C)(3) by the Intemal
Rcvenue Service and therefore resolve as follows :
Section 1. That the City Council approves the CHDO designation for the Southeast Los Angeles County
Community Development Corporation provided within 60 days it reccives a Recognition of Exemption
undcr section 501(C)(3) by the Intemal Revenue Service.
Secrion 2. This Resolution shall go into effect immediately upon its adoption.
