"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY ON NOVEMBER 4, 1997, DECLARING THE RESULT THEREOF AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS ARE PROVIDED BY LAW". ' WHEREAS, a Special Municipal Election was held and conducted in the City of Lynwood, California, on Tuesday, November 4, 1997; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 87-99 adopted June 16, 1987, [he election was consolidated with the Special Municipal Election and the Registrar canvassed the returns of said election and has certified the results to this City Council, said results are received, attached and made a part hereof as "Exhibit A"; and WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly and regularly given in tune, form and manner as provided by law; and that in all respects said election was held and conducted and the votes cast thereat, received and canvassed and the returns made and declared in time, form and manner as required by the provisions of the Elections Code of the Sate of California. NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby resolve, declare, determine and order as follows: Section 1. That there were nine (9) voting precincts established for the purpose of holding said election consisting of the regular election precincts in said City as , established for the holding of state and county elections. Section 2. That said Special Municipal Election was held for the purpose of electing the following officers of said City as required by laws relating to cities in the State of California; One (1) Member of the City Council of said City for the unexpired term of two (2) years. Proposition "T" Entitled: "Shall an Ordinance be adopted authorizing the transfer of fire protection, emergency medical services, and hazardous materials protection services from the Lynwood Fire Department to the Consolidated Fire Protection District of the Los Angeles County, authorizing a contract to provide retirement benefits for fire fighters, and authorizing the transfer of certain retirement benefits for fire fighters"? Proposition "U" Entitled: " Shall Ordinance No. 1462, to be known as "Tax Reduction and Rate Stabilization Plan", be adopted to levy a Special Parcel Tax for the purpose of reducing utility users tax rates, eliminating the monthly fee for the residential curbside recycling program, and providing funding for improvements in public safety services, street repairs and improvements in park and recreation services and other community services"? Section 3. That the whole number of votes cast in said City was 4,406. That the name of the person voted for at said election for member of the City Council are as follows: ARTURO REYES SERGIOJAQUEZ IRIS PYGATT CYNTHIA GREEN-GETER ANDREA L. HOOPER LYNDER BRIGGS Section 4. The City Council does declare and determine that: Arturo Reyes was elected Member of the Ciry Council of said City for the unexpired term of two years. That an Ordinance was passed authorizing the transfer of fire protection, emergency medical services, and hazardous materials protection services from the Lynwood Fire Department to the Consolidated Fire Protection District of Los Angeles County, authorizing a contract to provide retirement benefits for fire fighters, and authorizing the transfer of certain retirement benefits for fire fighters. That an Ordinance was denied, known as the "Tax Reduction and Rate Stabilization Plan", to levy a Special Parcel Tax for [he purpose of reducing utility users tax rates, eliminating the monthly fee for the residential curbside recycling program, and providing funding for improvements in public safety services, street repairs and improvements, and improvements in park and recreation services and other community services" . Section 5. The City Clerk shall enter on the record of the City Council of said City, a statement of the results of said election showing (1) The whole number of votes cast in the city. (2) The names of the persons voted for (3) For what office each person was voted for. (4) The measure voted upon (5) The number of votes given in the ciry of each person for and against the measures. Section 6. That the City Clerk shall immediately make and deliver to each of such persons so elected a Certificate of Election signed by the City clerk and duly authenticated; that the City Clerk shall also administer to each person elected, the Oath of Office prescribed in the State Constitu[ion of the State of California and shall have them subscribe thereto and file the same in the office of the City Clerk. Whereupon, each and all of said persons so elected shall be inducted into the respective office to which they have been elected. Section 7. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of the Resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original Resolutions of said City; and shall make a minute of passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
