A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD ORDERING THE VACATION AND ABANDONMENT
FOR PUBLIC PURPOSES, THE FIRST ALLEY SOUTH OF
IMPERIAL HIGHWAY BETWEEN LINDEN STREET AND THE
~ FIRST ALLEY WEST OF ATLANTIC AVENUE, AND THE FIRST
ALLEY WEST OF ATLANTIC AVENUE FROM IMPERIAL
HIGHWAY TO THE FIRST ALLEY SOUTH OF IMPERIAL
HIGHWAY AS SHOWN ON MAP OF TRACT 9337, MAP BOOK
130, PAGES 61-63 OF MAPS IN THE OFFICE OF THE LOS
ANGELES COUNTY RECORDER.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood did, on the 7th. day of
October, 1997, adopted Resolution No. 97-180, declaring its intention to vacate alleys
bounded by Imperial Highway, Los Flores Boulevard, Linden Street and Atlantic
Avenue;and
WHEREAS, notices of said vacation have been published and posted in
the time, form, and manner required by law; and
WHEREAS, on November 4, 1997, the public hearing was continued to
December 2, 1997; and
' WHEREAS, a public hearing on the matter was held on the Second day of
December, 1997, as prescribed by law.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lynwood as
follows:
Section 1. That the following described alley easement is unnecessary for
present or prospective public use, and that the public interest, necessity and convenience
require that the City Council of said City hereby order the vacation and abandonment of
said alley easement.
Portions of alleys as shown on the Tract No. 9337, in the City of Lynwood,
County of Los Angeles, State of California, Map Book 130, pages 61-63 of Maps in the
office of the Los Angeles Recorder, more specifically described as follows:
Beginning at the southwest corner of lot 8, thence S84° 07' 10" E 100.58'
along the northerly line of the alley, thence N 57° 10' 10" E 15.64' to the easterly line of
lot 9, thence along said easterly line N 18° 43' 30" E 126.91' to the southerly right-of-way
line of Imperial Highway (100' wide), thence S 84° 07' 10" E 20.51' to the westerly line of
Lot 2, thence S 18° 43'30" W 157.40', thence N 84° 07' 10"W 20.51', to the westerly line of
, Lot 2, thence S 18° 43' 30" W 157.40',thence N 84° 07' 10" W 20.51 to a point on the
elongation of easterly line of lot 6, thence S 18° 43' 30" W 10.02', then N32° 41' 50" W
12.47' to the northerly line of lot 6. thence N84° 07'10" W 95.48' to the Northwest corner of
lot 7, thence N 4° 38' 56" E 20' to the point of beginning.
Section 2. The City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby
determine that the public convenience and necessity require that an easement be retained
for construction and maintenance of utility lines within the limits of alley vacation as
described in Section 1.
Section 3. That the City Clerk of the City of Lynwood shall cause a certified
copy of said order to be recorded in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
