RESOLUTION NO. 97-203
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYWNOOD REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 97-194
AND RESCINDING THE EMPLOYMENT TRAINING
SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH PROJECT IMPACT, INC.,
IN CONNECTION WITH THE TREE OF LIFE--YOUTH
TRAINEE PROGRAM

RECITALS:
A. The City Council has received a letter dated
December 1, 1997, demanding that the City Council cure or correct
certain specified actions that are alleged to have been taken in
violation of the Ralph M. Brown Act at an adjourned regular
meeting of the City Council on Friday, November 21, 1997.

Agreement" between the City and Project impact,
C. After consideration of all relevant facts and
circumstances, the City Council finds and determines that the
interests of the City will best be served by curing and
correcting the challenged action described above in paragraph B.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
FINDS, DETERMZNES, AND RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council repeals in its entirety
Resolutioh NO. 97-194 as adopted on November 21, 1997, that
authorized and approved an "Employment Training Services
Agreement" between the City and Project Impact, Inc., and
rescinds that "Employment Training Services Agreement."
Section 2. The City Council directs the City Manager
to place on the City Council agenda for its regular meeting on
Tuesday, December 16, 1997, all documents relating to a proposed
agreement for services between the City and Project Zmpact, Znc.
in connection with the Tree-of-Life Youth Trainee Program, as
well as evaluations and recommendations of City staff relating to
such proposed agreement, in order that the City Council, and
interested members of the general public, can make informed
comments, deliberations, and decisions concerning this matter.
' Section 3. The City Clerk is directed to mail a copy
of this Resolution to Rev. Matthew R. Harris, Project Impact,
Inc., 2610 Industry Way, Suite B, Lynwood, California 90262.

Section 4. This Resolution is effective upon its
adoption.
