A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYWNOOD REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 97-195
AND RESCINDING TIiE EMPLOYMENT TRAINING
SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH CALIFORNIA WESTERN
ARBORISTS, INC., IN CONNECTION WITH THE TREE
OF LIFE--YOUTH TRAINEE PROGRAM
' RECITALS:
A. The City Council has received a letter dated
December 1, 1997, demanding that the City Council cure or correct
certain specified actions that are alleged to have been taken in
violation of the Ralph M. Brown Act at an adjourned regular .
meeting of the City Council on Friday, November 21, 1997.
B. At an adjourned special meeting held on Tuesday,
December 9, 1997, the City Council considered the written demand
to cure or correct as it relates to action taken on November 21,
1997, by the City Council approving by Resolution an "Employment
Training Services Agreement" between the City and California
Western Arborists, Inc.
C. After consideration of all relevant facts and
circumstances, the City Council finds and determines that the
interests of the City will best be served by curing and
correcting the challenged action described above in paragraph B.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCZL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
FINDS, DETERMINES, AND RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
~ Section 1. The City Council repeals in its entirety
Resolution NO. 97-195 as adopted on November 21, 1997, that
authorized and approved an "Employment Training Services
Agreement~' between the City and California Western Arborists,
Inc., and rescinds that "Employment Training Services Agreement."
Section 2. The City Council directs the City Manager
to place on the City Council agenda for its regular meeting on
Tuesday, December 16, 1997, all documents relating to a proposed
agreement for services between the City and California Western
Arborists, Inc. in connection with the Tree-of-Life Youth Trainee
Program, as well as evaluations and recommendations of City staff
relating to such proposed agreement, in order that the City
Council, and interested members of the general public, can make
informed comments, deliberations, and decisions concerning this
matter.
Section 3. The City Clerk is directed to mail a copy
of this Resolution to Mr. Lee Duncan, President, California
Western Arborists, Inc., 2555 East Industry Way, Suite F,
Lynwood, California 90262.

Section 4. This Resolution is effective upon its
adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 9`-h day of December,
1997.
