A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING
THE RENAMING OF MERVYN M. DYMALLY PARK TO "LYNWOOD CITY PARK"
' WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood's largest park facility was dedicated "Lynwood Ciry
Park" in 1947; and
WHEREAS, this park facility contains such amenities as; Community/Transit Center,
Natatorium Aquatic Center, tennis courts, soccer fields, baseball fields, sofrball fields, picnic shelters and
John D. Byork Historical Pacific Electric Red Car Station; and
WHEREAS, this facility was renamed Mervyn M. Dymally Congressional Park on
March 6, 1990; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE C1TY COUNCIL AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the name of Mervyn M. Dymally Congressional Park shall hereby
be formally established as "Lynwood City Park"; and
' Section 2. That this resolution shall go into effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 16 day of December 1 97.

this facility represent and identify with the community; and

WHEREAS, the Mayor and Members of the Lynwood City Council directed staff to
prepare the necessary documentation ro change the name of the park at their regularly scheduled meeting
of Tuesday, December 2, 1997 which was con[inued on Wednesday, December 3, 1997.
