A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TEMPLE CITY DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER
THE ANNEXATION NO. LD 83 -1 TO THE CITY -WIDE
LIGHTING DISTRICT, PURSUANT TO THE LANDSCAPING
AND LIGHTING ACT OF 1972; AND FIXING A TIME AND
PLACE FOR HEARING OBJECTIONS THERETO
WHEREAS, the City Council by Resolution No. 83 -2134 proposed
Annexation No. LD 83 -1 to the City -Wide Lighting District pursuant
to the provisions of the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972 (Part 2,
Division 15 of the California Streets and Highways Code); and
WHEREAS, by said Resolution No. 83 -2135 the City Council ordered
the Engineer to prepare a report pursuant to Article 4, Chapter 1,
Division 15 of said Streets and Highways Code; and
WHEREAS, Annexation No. LD 83 -1 proposes to annex a portion of
the unincorporated territory of Los Angeles County to the City -Wide
Lighting District; and
WHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles has granted to the City of
Temple City jurisdiction to annex certain territory of the unincorpor-
ated territory of Los Angeles County to the City -Wide Lighting District,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the public interest and convenience requires
and it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Temple City
to order Annexation No. LD 83 -1 to the City -Wide Lighting District
within which the following work is to be done; to wit:
1. Maintenance and servicing of Street Lighting
2. Any and all work and materials appurtenant thereto.
In addition, said Annexation is to be formed to levy and collect
assessments for said work in accordance with the Act hereinafter
designated.
SECTION 2. The foregoing described work is to be located within
streets and easements within said Annexation the boundary of which is
more particularly described on Maps on file in the office of the
City Clerk for the City of Temple City, County of Los Angeles, State
of California, at the date of approval of this Resolution.
SECTION 3. That the contemplated work, in the opinion of said
City Council, is of benefit to and the said City Council hereby
makes the expense of the said work chargeable upon a district, which
said district is assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof, and
which district is described as follows:
All that territory within the unincorporated area of
Los Angeles County shown on a map on file in the office
of the City Clerk of Temple City titled "Annexation
No. LD 83 -1 to the Temple City, City -Wide Lighting
District ".
SECTION 4. Reference hereby is made to the report of the
Engineer on file with the City Clerk and open to inspection, for a
full detailed description of the improvements, the boundaries of the
Assessment District and any zones therein and the proposed assessments
upon assessable lots and parcels of land within the District.
SECTION 5. Notice is hereby given that on the 15th day of
February, 1983, at the hour of 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber of the
City Council in the City Hall, Temple City, California, any and all
persons having any objections to the work or extent of the assessment
district, may appear and show cause why said work should not be done

or carried out or why said district should not be formed in accordance
with this Resolution of Intention. Protests should be in writing and
should be filed with the City Clerk prior to the conclusion of the
public hearing. The City Council will hear and consider all written
and oral protests presented at the public hearing.
SECTION 6. The area proposed to be annexed is within the unin-
corporated territory of Los Angeles County and the Los Angeles County
has granted jurisdiction to the City of Temple City pursuant to
Resolution of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors.
SECTION 7. All the work herein proposed shall be done in accord-
ance with the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972, being Part 2 of
Division 15 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California.
SECTION 8. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted
by the City Council of the City of Temple City as a regular meeting
held on the 1st day of February, 1983, by the following vote of the
Council:
AYES: Councilmen- Atkins, Dennis, Gillanders, Swain, Tyrell
