A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE
APPROPRIATION OF FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS FROM THE UNAPPROPRIATED GENERAL
FUND BALANCE FOR THE 1998 YOUTH BASEBALL CLINIC
' WHEREAS, The City of Lynwood has one of the most outstanding youth baseball programs in all
of southeastern Los Angeles; and
WHEREAS, Youth Baseball Clinic is an ideal method [o kick-off the baseball season which is
conduc[ed in conjunction with the Lynwood Sports Association; and
WHEREAS, The clinic will have two (2) celebrity hosts including Mc James Bishop and Mr.
Mario "Tony" Miranda, both of which grew up here in the Ciry of Lynwood and went on to flourishing
careers in Major League Baseball; and
WHEREAS, The grand opening for the completety redesigned and rehabilitated Lynwood City
Park will coincide with the commencement of the Lynwood Baseball Program; and
WHEREAS, The Youth Baseball Program serves hundreds of Lynwood youth between the ages
of five (5) and sixteen (16) years of age.
WHEREAS, This is a program which was not funded as part of the 1997/98 fiscal budget; and
WHEREAS, The projected operating budget for this program is five thousand dollars ($5,000.00).
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby find, proclaim, order
and resolve as follows:
Section 1. The City Manager or his designee is authorized to carryout any necessary transactions
' as so ordered by [his resolution.
Section 2. That a fund appropriation in the amount of five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) be
exewted as follows:
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
