Two Leesburg Businesses Receive HUBZone Certification
Leesburg, VA (May 6, 2015) – The Building People, LLC and Lynker Technologies, LLC both
announced that they received HUBZone (Historically Underutilized Business Zone) Certification
from the federal government.
The Building People, LLC is a corporate real estate and facilities management organization that
prides itself on 20 years of executive leadership experience operating, maintaining, and
providing service and space solutions for building owners and their customers. Larry Melton,
CEO, The Building People said "We're excited and continue to be very optimistic on our future.
Since we've moved our team into the Mason Enterprise Center Leesburg, we found the
opportunities here have set a great foundation on our long-term relationship with the local
community and the Federal agencies we serve in the Washington D.C. metro area."
Lynker Technologies, LLC is a growing small business specializing in professional, scientific and
technical services with offices in Leesburg, VA and Boulder, CO. Their continually expanding

technically sound, cost effective solutions in geospatial, information technology, hydro logy,
resource management, conservation, and management and business process improvement.
"We are pleased to be an active member at the Mason Enterprise Center Leesburg and are
working hard to leverage our HUBZone designation," expressed Lynker Technologies President,
Joe Linza.
The HUBZone program was created in 1997 to promote economic development and
employment growth in distressed areas. Certified HUBZone businesses receive competitive
advantages and price preferences when vying for federal contracts. “Since January 2013, nearly
50 new companies have landed in Leesburg and more than 185 new jobs have been created,”
stated Leesburg Economic Development Director, Marantha Edwards.
Mason Enterprise Center Regional Director, Susan Henson, commented, “Both these companies
represent the types of small businesses we strive to support with a variety of programs aimed
at meeting their specific needs.” For more information on getting started, businesses should
attend the workshop on May 11, 2015, “Basic Training: Small Business Guide to Federal
