A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING ON MARCH 3, 1998 RELATIVE TO
AMENDING THE LYNWOOD FEE SCHEDULE TO ESTABLISH AN
ADMINISTRATIVE FEE FOR THE RELEASE OF PROPERLY
IMPOUNDED VEHICLES
WHEREAS, the California Vehicle Code allows for the establishment of an
administrative fee for the release of properly impounded vehicles; and
WHEREAS, significant cost is incurred by the City in handling vehicle impounds
or storage; and
WHEREAS, the administrative fee recovers the cost reasonably borne by the
City of Lynwood in providing such service; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing is required pursuant to Section 66018 of the
California Government Code for adopting a new fee or approving an increase in an
existing fee;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE,
DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOW:
SECTION 1. That the City Council set a public hearing on March 3, 1998 at
7:30p.m. at which oral or written presentations can be made, as part of a regularly
scheduled meeting relative to the estabiishment of a$78 administrative fee for the
release of properly impounded vehicles.
SECTION 2. That the City Council repeal Resolution No. 92-53 relative to the
previous establisment of a$50 administrative fee.
SECTION 3. That this resolution shall take effect immediately upon its
adoption.
