A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AMENDING THE LYNWOOD FEE SCHEDULE TO ESTABLISH AN
ADMINISTRATIVE FEE FOR THE RELEASE OF PROPERLY
IMPOUNDED AND/OR STORED VEHICLES
' WHEREAS, the California Vehicle Code allows for the establishment of an
administrative fee for the release of properly impounded vehicles; and
WHEREAS, significant cost is incurred by the City in handling vehicle impounds
or storage; and
WHEREAS, the administrative fee recovers the cost reasonably borne by the
City of Lynwood in providing such service; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE,
DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOW:
SECTION 1. The division of the Lynwood Fee Schedule that is entitled "Public
Safety Services" is amended by adding a new subheading to be identified as "Vehicle
Code Enforcement." The City Manager is directed to assign an appropriate "Account
Number" to this new subheading.
SECTION 2. A new paragraph 1 is to be added under the subheading "Vehicie
Code EnforcemenY' to read as follows:
"1. Administrative fee for the removal, impound, storage,
, or release of a vehicle, as authorized by Section 22850.5
of the California Vehicle Code $78.00"
SECTION 3. The administrative fee authorized by this Resolution is in addition
to ail other charges that are authorized or imposed under the California Vehicle Code for
the removal, impound, storage, or release of a vehicle.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk is directed to certify to the passage and adoption of
this Resolution.
