HomeMy Public PortalAbout98-037 (03-03-98)RESOLUTION NO. 98-37 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO CONDUCT A PUBLIC HEARING TO ASCERTAIN WHETHER A NUISANCE IS BEING MAINTAINED ON CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT 3636 LYNWOOD RD. IDENTIFIED AS TAX ASSESSOR'S BOOK 6175, PAGE 006, LOT 017, IN THE CITY OF LYNWOOD. WHEREAS, the City Manager of the City of Lynwood has recommended that this City Council find that certain premises within the Ciry of Lynwood may be maintained in such a way as to constitute a nuisance; and ~ WHEREAS, certain procedures aze set forth in Chapter 3-13 of the Ciry Code of the City of Lynwood, pursuant to which nuisance may be abated; WHEREAS, the conditions on said property which may constitute a ~uisance aze: 1. The subjected property consist of an abandoned single family dwelling, left unsecured, thus inviting trespassers, vandalism. 2. The entire site has junk, trash and debris scattered throughout the property. 3. Single car gazage partially destroyed and lefr in an unreasonable state of partial construction. 4. Broken windows constituting hazardous conditions throughout property. 5. All structures at the site have been extensively graffiti. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the Ciry of Lynwood hereby resolves as follows: ' n 1 Based upon the aforesaid recommendation of the City Manager, this Council hereby finds and determines that the following described property may presently be maintained in such manner as to constitute a nuisance. Such property is described as Lot 017 of Tract Book No. 6175, Page 006, identified as 3636 Lynwood Rd., City of Lynwood. , n 2 The method(s) by which said conditions could be abated include, but are not limited to: 1. Upon obtaining an enhy & abatement warrant, the site will be cleaned and all overgrown vegetation will be properly disposed. 2. Remove and properly dispose of all junk, trash and debris at the site and maintain on an ongoing basis. 3. Properly secure all points of entry and maintain property site as such. 4. All gra~ti found at the site will be removed and property will be monitored to prevent further violations at the site. c i 3. The owners of said property, Homeside Lending Inc., may be ordered to take said steps in order to aba[e said nuisance pursuant [o Chapter 3-13.7. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED tHAT THIS COLJNCIL therefore declazes its intention m conduct a public heazing, pursuant to Chapter 3-13 of the City Code of Lynwood to ascertain whether the above described conditions constitute a public nuisance, the abatement of which is appropriate under public power of the City of Lynwood, and, THE CITY COLINCIL hereby fixes the hour of 730 p.m., March 17, 1998, as the time and the City Council Chambers, 11330 Bullis Road, as the place for said public heazing; and the City Clerk is authorized ' and directed to serve and post certified copies of the resolution in the manner set forth in Chapter 3-13.4 of the Lynwood City Code.
