RESOLUTION N0. 98-43
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF THIRTY FIVE HUNDRED
DOLLARS ($3,500.00) FROM THE UNAPPROPRIATED GENERAL FUND
BALANCE FOR THE CONDUCTION OF A MEMORIAL DAY PROGRAM TO
HONOR THE VETERANS OF LYNWOOD

WHEREAS, The City of Lynwood has been very honorably represented by its
citizens in all branches of the armed services of the United Sates during war time as well
as peace time; and
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Lynwood has recognized the role of
the veterans and in that vein approved the formation of a Veteran's Affairs Council at its
regularly scheduled meeting of Tuesday, January 20, 1998; and
WHEREAS, The City Council is also desirous of conducting events on various
holidays to honor veterans; and
WHEREAS, Staff is recommending the conduction of a Memorial Day to honor
veterans;and
WHEREAS, The anticipated budget for this program is thirty five hundred dollazs
($3,500.00); and
WHEREAS, This program was not identified and funded as part of the 1997/98
budget adopted by the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, The City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby fmd,
'
proclaim, order and resolve as follows:
Section 1. The City Manager or his designee is authorized to carryout any and
all necessary transactions as so ordered by this resolution.
Section 2. That a fund appropriation in the amount of thirty five hundred
dollars ($3,500.00) be executed as follows:
