A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD ORDERING THE VACATION AND
ABANDONMENT FOR PUBLIC PURPOSES THE PORTION
OF HARRIS AVENUE FROM SANBORN AVENUE TO
ALBERTA AVENUE
, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood did, on the 17th. day
of March, 1998, adopted Resolution No. 98-53, declaring its intention to vacate the
portion of Harris Avenue from Sanborn Avenue to Alberta Avenue, in the City of
Lynwood, as hereinafter described; and
WHEREAS, notices of said vacation have been published and posted in
the time, form, and manner required by law; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing on the matter was held on the 7th day of
April, 1998, as prescribed by law.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Lynwood as follows:
Section 1. That the following described street easement is unnecessary
for present or prospective public use, and that the public interest, necessity and
convenience require that the City Council of said City hereby order the vacation and
abandonment of said street easement.
' That portion of Harris Avenue (formerly Locust Street) from the northerly
right-of-way line of Sanborn Avenue to the southerly right-of-way line of Alberta
Avenue, as shown on Tract Century Square, and Tract No. 9337, in the City of
Lynwood, in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, Map Book 133, pages 87-
88, and Map Book 130, pages 61-63, respectively, of maps in the office of the Los
Angeles County Recorder.
Section 2. The City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby determine
that the public convenience and necessity require that an easement be retained for
construction and maintenance of utility lines within the limits of street vacation as
described in Section 1.
Section 3. That the City Clerk of the City of Lynwood shall cause a
certified copy of said order to be recorded in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles
County.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
