A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF TWENTY ONE THOUSAND
FOUR HUNDRED, NINETY-FIVE DOLLARS FROM THE UNAPPROPRIATED
GENERAL FUND BALANCE FOR THE EQUIPMENT AND PROGRAM
ENHANCEMENTS OF THE 1998 YOUTH BASEBALL PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, The City of Lynwood in conjunction with the Lynwood Sports
' Association, offers a dynamic Youth Baseball Program to its citizens; and
WHEREAS, the Youth Baseball Program serves over four-hundred young people
on an annual basis; and
WHEREAS, participants in the Youth Baseball Program raise through registration
fees as well as fund raising efforts over seventy thousand dollars ($70,000) annually to
defray program costs, making the impact to the general fund for this program nearly zero;
and
WHEREAS, the program is in need of various program improvements such as;
equipment and umpire improvements as well as such enhancements as"City of Lynwood
Day" at Dodger Stadium; and
WAEREAS, these equipment improvements and program enhancements were not
approved as part of adopted budget for fiscal year 1997/98.
NOW TI~REFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Lynwood that:
' Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood authorizes the City
Manager or his designee to execute all transactions necessary to bring this resolution to
successfui fruition.
Section 2. The City Council of the City of Lynwood authorizes the following
transfer:

Section 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
adoption.
