A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
. LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE
THE HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION
SITING AND LIABILITY AGREEMENT
, WHEREAS, the City Council has expressed concern for the well being of
the environment and of its residents; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is desirous of providing its residents with a
legal cost-free way of disposing of unwanted household chemicals that cannot be
disposed of in the regular trash; and
WHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles Public Works Department, in
conjunction with the cities of Los Angeles County and the Sanitation Districts sponsors
several Household Hazardous Waste Roundup events throughout the year in Los
Angeles County; and
WHEREAS, a Roundup event is being scheduled in the City of Lynwood
on Saturday, June 13, 1998; and
WHEREAS, this event will allow the residents of Lynwood the proper
method of disposing of their household hazardous wastes; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to execute a Household Hazardous Waste
Collection Siting and Liability Agreement which documents the County liability coverage
, for the Roundup event.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF LYNWOOD, STATE OF CALIFORNIA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE,
DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
SEC~ That the Mayor is authorized to execute the Household
Hazardous Collection Siting and Liability Agreement.
SEC- T_. That this resolution shall take effect immediately upon its
adoption.
