HomeMy Public PortalAboutPAGE 126�.� REGULAR MEETING January 3rd, 1928 A resui r meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Town of Ault was called to order by Mayor Anderson at 8:00 P.M. on the above date. Upon roll ca] the following members were found present, Hasbrouck, T c I htyre, Peterson, erson, Sivers and d Young. Absent. Newnan. a � A�:.se.�u �e;�r�:�n, The minutes of the preceed in.g meeting were read and approved as road. A letter from the Great Western Sugar co. thanking the Town for the cooperation shown them during the past year was read. A legal opinion from Mr. Wry. R.Kelly of Greeley, in regard to the remodeling of the Ault Cafe Building was read. was Mr. Kelly's opinion c r Ordina- nces, It _ �.�L c}bd that t��!_ F the ��rese;t ®raiz�a- nces, the Town could do nothing except to see that a fire proof roof was - put on. This natter was discussed briefly. No action taken. The Clerk stated that the Treasurer was not able to have his report for the fiscal year for this meeting. Trustee Hasbrouck stated that it was his opinion that the Board should appoint a Treasurer at the b ginni e of the fiscal -year andhave the. reports made when the change was made. A discussion relative to changeing the 0rjinance concerning the collecting g of dog and poll tax and. licenses for pool halls, to conform with the change of Fiscal Year, •followed. The discussion seemed t6 favor the revision of the entire Ordin- • nce book. Sivers moved, Peterson seconded, that the Ordinance book be revised, by - a eompete tattorney and that this matter be left with the Finance committee. All present 'vote: Aye. Hasbrouck moved, McIntyre seconded that Arthur Beck be appointed Town Treasurer for the fiscal year beginning January 1st, 1928 and. ending Dec. 31st, 1928. All present voted Aye. Mr. Frank Tinker was present and stated that some water r'i es outside of the City limits were frozen during the recent cold weather and asked the Boards opinion in regard to thawing them. The Board was not in favor of thawing any pipes outside of the City limits. This was referee' to the Street and Alley Committee. - Installing the punch at the purging plant was brought up. No action taken. The condition: of the skating pond was discussed and some advise given. The following list -of. bills were read and approved by the finance committee. F. V. Hasbrouck Loved, Sivers seconded, that the 1, ills be allowed as. read and warrants drawn on the Treasurer for the sari;. All present voted -Aye. J.D.Sivers asked for a permit to erect a five room house on lots 16 and 17 Bock one of MccUenns addition to the Town of Ault, Said house to be 26 ft. by 38 ft. and of tile and -stucco construction. McIntyre moved, Young seconded that J ;. Siver s be given a permit to build said house. All present voted Aye. Sivers moved, McIntyre seconded that a deed to lot 4 of section 9 in block 2 of the Ault Cemetery be given to Calvin Pranks. All present voted Aye. Proposed Ordinance No. 90 which follows- was read, and after some discussi- on McIntyre moved, Young seconded that Proposed Ordinance No. 90 be adopted as read and ordered published in the Ault Fooster.YEA vote, Hasbrouck, McIntyre, Peterson, Sivers and Young.
