A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF A
PURCHASE ORDER CONTRACT TO INSITUFORM
SOUTHWEST, INC. AND PERMAFORM MANHOLE SYSTEMS
FOR THE REHABILITATION OF CERTAIN PORTION OF
THE CITY'S SEWER MAINS AND MANHOLES
~^+ WHEREAS, the City Council is desirous to improve the
Itr City's infrastructure and provide better service to the citizens
of Lynwood; and
WHEREAS, staff has identified the need to
rehabilitate a portion of the sewer main on Fernwood Avenue,
between Bullis Road and Birch Avenue; and
WHEREAS, staff has also identified the need to repair
three sewer manholes located on Peach Avenue, Cedar Avenue and
Carlin Avenue; and
WHEREAS, staff has determined that said repairs can
be achieved at a lower cost, and with minimum amount of
inconvenience to the public by utilizing the slip line and
manhole lining methods to rehabilitate the sewer main and sewer
manholes, respectively; and
WHEREAS, these repairs are funded by the Capital
Improvemet Program, FY 1992-93, and are estimated to cost
$92,000, using said methods;and
WHEREAS, Insituform Southwest, Inc. and Permaform
Manhole Systems are the sole suppliers and contractors providing
these methods of sewer rehabilitation; and
WHEREAS, The City of Lynwood City Code,
Section 6-3.13 allows for the non competitive bidding process
when the supplies, services or contract could be obtained from
only one (1) source.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
Lynwood does hereby find, proclaim, order and resolve as follows:
Section 1. That the City Council authorize the
issuance of a purchase order contract to Insituform Southwest,
Inc. and Permaform Manhole Systems for the rehabilitation of said
deficiencies in the City's sewer system.
Section 2. This resolution shall go into effect
immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 1st day of
June 1993.
