ORDINANCE NO. 1515-q
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, VACATING AND
DISCONTINUING ALL CITY RETAINED EASEMENTS IN THE VACATED RIGHT-OF-
WAY OF THE UNNAMED ALLEY LOCATED BETWEEN THE 900 BLOCK OF WEST
MAIN STREET AND WEST HIGH STREET.
WHEREAS, it has been shown to the Council of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, that the
owners of the property at 906 West Main Street, have petitioned the City
Council to vacate all City retained easement rights; and
WHEREAS, it has further been shown that it would not inconvenience the public or the
citizens of the City to discontinue all City retained easements for public
use as described in Section 1 of this Ordinance; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Council of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, hereby declares it
necessary, reasonable and proper to discontinue City retained easements in the area
described as the previously vacated parts of an unnamed alley adjacent to Inlots 258
through 264 and adjacent to Lots 9 and 10 of Crandall's Addition and forever vacate the
following described City retained easements in said City:
All of a 20 foot alley bounded to the west by the easterly right-of-way line of
Brooks Street and the east by the westerly line of the vacated Fulkerson Street
right-of-way and situated between West Main Street and West High Street in
Jefferson City, Missouri; and being adjacent to Inlots 258 through 264, and
adjacent to Lots 9 and 10 of Crandall's Addition to Jefferson City, in section 1,
Township 44, Range 12, Cole County Missouri.
Section 2. The statutory right of reversion in the owners of the abutting property
is hereby confirmed, as is provided by the laws of the State of Missouri, and the Mayor
and the Clerk of the City are hereby authorized to execute all necessary instruments
required to confirm the reversionary rights of the owners of property abutting on the
area vacated, as described in Section 1 of this ordinance, in the right-of-way vacated.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its
passage.
