The motion passed unanimously. New Business A. Historic Preservation Plan Public Meeting Ms. Nanoski explained that the purpose and function of the Historic Preservation Plan is to guide historic preservation efforts throughout the City. She discussed the plan’s Vision Statement, Goals and Strategies. Ms. Nanoski stated that the public comment period is open until October 18, 2019. A draft plan was distributed to Commission members at the meeting. Mr. Bernskoetter inquired whether the short and long term objectives will be ranked in terms of importance relative to the plan. Ms. Schantz explained that the Historic Preservation Commission will hold their second brainstorming session immediately following this meeting to look at the Historic Preservation Plan and the city code to prioritize things that this Commission can work on. She stated that the ultimate goal is to come up with priorities that this Commission can work on and put together a timeline and a strategy to get those goals accomplished. Ms. Schantz explained that some of the recommendations outlined in the plan are not the responsibility of the Historic Preservation Commission. Some of the recommendations are the responsibility of the Planning and Zoning Commission and city staff. Dates to Remember A. Next Regular Meeting Date, October 8, 2019 Adjournment Mr. Berendzen moved and Mr. Bemboom seconded to adjourn the meeting at 5:55 p.m. The motion passed unanimously.
