A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COiJNCIL OF 'PHE CITY OF
LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING STAFF TO SEND OUT A REQUEST
FOR PROPOSAL TO FIRMS SPECIALIZING IN WELL SITE
INVESTIGATION STUDIES.
WHEREAS, Well No. 20, whose design and construction was
financed by Caltrans is unusable due to high levels of iron and
manganese contents in the water along with its high operating
costs due to its poor pumping efficiency; and
WHEREAS, the California Department of Health Services re-
fuses to permit pumping of Well No. 20 water into the City's
distribution system; and
WHEREAS, Caltrans has not met its obligation to the City to
replace Well No. 10 with a new well; and
WFIEREAS, Caltrans will finance the cost of design, and
construction of a new well that will assure good water quality
and high pumping efficiency.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does
hereby find, proclaim, order and resolve as follows:
Section 1. That the City Council authorize the Director of
Public Works to send out a Request For Proposal to firms special-
izing in Well Site Investigations, which investigation will be
financed by Caltrans.
Section 2. This resolution shall go into effect immediately
upon its adoption.
