A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
APPROVING THE APPROPRIATION OF TEN TAOUSAND DOLLARS
($10,000) TO ESTABLISH A REWARD FUND AGAINST GRAFFITI
VANDALISM
WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted an ordinance
against Graffiti Vandalism, that makes guilty parties
subject to monetary penalties; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted an ordinance
establishing rewards of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) for
information leadinq to the identity and three hundred
dollars ($300.00) for the arrest and conviction of graffiti
vandals; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood has mounted an aggressive
Anti-Graffiti Campaign which prohibits the sale of spray
paint and ink markers to minors; and
WHEREAS, Graffiti and the extensive damage it causes
to both public and private property is a serious area-wide
problem effecting all Southern California Communities; and
WHEREAS, it is important to this city to maintain an
aggressive effort in its campaign against Graffiti
Vandalism.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
Lynwood does hereby resolve as follows:
Section 1. That the City Council authorize the
appropriation of unappropriated General funds in the amount
of $10,000 to graffitti removal funds to establish a reward
fund.
