A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
' LYNWOOD APPROVING THE APPROPRIATION OF FIVE
THOUSAND DOLLARS ($5,000.00) TO ASSIST THE
LYNWOOD LIGHTNING TRACK CLUB.
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood received an Amateur Atheltic
Association grant in the amount of ($20,340.00) to initiate and
enhance youth sports programs; and
WHEREAS, the Lynwood Lightning Track Club was initiated as
part of that grant in December, 1986; and
WHEREAS, the funding ran out in November, 1987; and
WHEREAS, the club has continued to operate primarily
through fundraising efforts. coaches, donations and parental
financial support; and
WHEREAS, the club has during each of its first four (4)
years in existence successfully qualified participants to the
National Meet however have not had the resources to send them;
and
WHEREAS; the Lynwood Lightning Track Club participants
would be positively representing the City of Lynwood in this
' very prestigious event; and
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved, that City Council of the
City of Lynwood resolve the following:
Section 1. That the City Manager or his designee is
authorized to make the following additional appropriation:
