A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD RETITLING HOURLY PARK MAINTENANCE WORKERS
TO THE TITLE OF HOURLY LABORERS AND APPROVING
THE SUPPORTING APPROPRIATION INCREASE
WHEREAS, the City Council approved the Department of
Facility Maintenance within the Operating Budget for Fiscal Year
1993-94; and
WHEREAS, the division/functions of Grounds Maintenance
are contained within this department; and
WHEREAS, the current hourly workers assigned to Grounds
Maintenance are titled Park Maintenance Workers; and
WHEREAS, a retitling of said workers to that of hourly
Laborers within the Facility Maintenance Department will allow for
the cross-training and flexibility of assigning staff as needed in
any identified area; and
WHEREAS, having staff trained in various job related
functions within the Department is in the best interests of the
City and beneficial to the employees as a whole; and
WHEREAS, there is a need to increase the appropriation to
support the $.93 per hour adjustment in salary and required benefit
increases for the remainder of Fiscal Year 1993-94.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood
does hereby find, determine, order and resolve as follows:
(~" Section 1. Retitle the hourly Park Maintenance Worker
L positions to that of an hourly Laborer at the salary range of $9.56
-$11.22.
Section 2. Approve an appropriation increase of $17,180
to facilitate the retitling request for the remainder of Fiscal
Year 1993-94 as follows:

TOTAL: $ 37,180
Section 3. This resolution shall become effective August
29, 1993.
