A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD,
CALIFORNIA TO HAVE CITY COUNCIL APPROVING THE ESTABLISHMENT
OF A SPECIAL TRUST AND AGENCY FUND INTO WHICH SHERIFF'S
FORFEITURE PROGRAM MONIES CAN BE DEPOSITED
WHEREAS, the establishment of forfeiture laws were the
means by which profits and property derived from illegal drug
transactions could be seized by law enforcement; and
WHEREAS, the intent of the forfeiture laws is to make
a financial impact on substantial drug traffickers while aiding
the enforcement efforts of state and local agencies, and
WHEREAS, forfeiture monies will be used to support any
law enforcement efforts; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Lynwood, California, as follows:
SECTION 1. That the Council of the City of Lynwood authorize the
establishment of a special trust and agency fund into which
Sheriff's forfeiture program monies can be deposited.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager or his designee is hereby
authorized to deposit into said Special Fund in the amount of
$19,312, which has been received from the Sheriff's Forfeiture
Program.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this Sth day of
June 1990.
