Kudos to our Tybee Island Fire Department on raising just shy of $,000 for MDC during the Labor Day Boot Drive. Thanks to all who donated and to all who volunteered their time.
Tybee Island Spelling Bee, Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at the Tybee Island YMCA, 6:30PM. Please contact Joey Burel, 912.713.8310 for more information. There will be a “BEE-stro”
café for a variety of sandwiches and treats. The “Bee-stro” opens at 5:30PM.
MAYORS’ MOTORCADE: There will be a Fall Festival on November 17, 2012 from 12:00 – 6:00PM and American Legion Post 154, Tybee Island. Children’s games, pumpkin drawing and carving
contests, silent auction and various other activities. All proceeds will go to benefit the GA Regional Hospital Patients. There will also be challenges between the TYPD and TYFD.
There are talks regarding a pie throwing event. More details to follow but please mark your calendar. City hall will also be accepting new clothing and monetary donations. Please
see Jan LeViner if you would like to volunteer your time.
RISING TYDE FOOD PANTRY: The pantry is in need of the following items:
Shelf milk, in quarts or individual lunch packs, both white and chocolate
Canned chicken
Jelly to go on PB sandwiches
Canned fruit, specifically pears and peaches
1 lb and 2 lb bags of rice
Cookies and crackers
100% Fruit juice in individual packs for lunches and after school snacks
Snacks like cheese or peanut butter crackers
