HomeMy Public PortalAbout14) 7E Adoption of Reso. 15-5062 Revising the Salary for Full Time EmployeesCity Council February 17 , 2015 Page 2 of 2 • # The Adm inis trative Services Director , as the Personnel Officer, has completed a study of the duties and responsibilities and relationship to other classes of positions and has determined that a reclassificat ion to an Office Ass ista nt II would be appropriate . A new job classification series for Office Assistant I and II has been completed and approved by the City Manager. The current salary schedu le does not include an approved salary range for Office Assistant II , and staff is recommending the one be established, 10 % above the current Office Assistant position . The new Office Assistant II recommended falls in line with the City 's other clerical position as proposed ; it is approx imately 10 % below the current Secretary salary range . CONCLUSION: Since the duties of an incumbent in the full time Office Ass ista nt pos ition have materially changed and the Personnel Officer has completed a study of the duties and respons ibilities and relationship to other classes of positions and has determined a reclassification is appropriate , implementation of revised salary scheduled to address the reclassification is recommended . FISCAL IMPACT: The fiscal impact of this action on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2014-15 City Budg et would be $4 ,368 . Sufficient funding is available as the City is realizing salary savings as a result of the vacancy of the Public Safety and Services Manager positon . ATTACHMENT: A. Resolut ion 15-5062 adopting a revis ed Salary Schedul e ATTACHMENT A RESOLUTION NO . 15-5062 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE C ITY OF TEMPLE CITY , CALIFORN IA AMEND IN G THE SALARY RANG ES FOR FU L L TIME CLASSIFI CATIONS WHEREAS, on June 4 , 2013 , the City Co un cil adopted a 9ompensation Plan which implemented c hanges in most salary ranges for full time and part-time classifications for FY 2013-14 ; and WHEREAS , on June 4 , 2013 , the Ci ty Council adopte·d the FY 2013-14 City Budget which included funding for a 2% CO LA for all full and part-time classificatio ns WHEREAS , on June 18 , 2013, the City Council adopted Resolution 13-4926, adopting revised salary ranges as a result of an approved 2% CO LA for all full and part-time c lassificat ions . THE CITY COUNCIL O F T HE CITY OF TEM PLE CITY DOES HERE BY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS : SECTION 1. The Ci ty Council hereby approves salary ranges for fu ll time em ployees (Exhib it "1 ") adding a Salary Range for Office Assistant II. SECTION 2.
