A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD,
CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING STAFF TO OBTAIN INFORMAL BIDS
FOR LEASING OF TELEPHONE EQUIPMENT AND APPROPRIATING
ADDITIONAL FUNDS TO COVER EQUIPMENT LEASING
WHEREAS, the City purchased a Rolm CBX telephone system
in or around 1978; and
WHEREAS, the system has reached maximum capability to
' facilitate the day to day voice communications of the City;
WHEREAS, an upgrade of the system is necessary to
accommodate the growing needs of the City;
WIiEREAS, Section 6-3.13(c) of the Lynwood Municipal
Code provides an authorization for purchases by informal bids;
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to
lease a telephone system for five (5) years with a fair market
purchase provision; and
WHEREAS, appropriations for FY 1990-91 did not include
funds for an annual lease payment for a telephone system.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Lynwood, California, as follows:
SECTION 1. That the Council of the City of Lynwood hereby finds
and determines that the purchase of telephone equipment can be
completed more expeditiously and efficiently through informal
bids.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager or his designee is authorized
to make an appropriation of $15,000 from the appropriate fund
' balances as specified in the staff report attached hereto to
cover the annual lease payment.
SECTION 3. The
adoption of this
force and effect.

August 1990.
