MEDINA CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES OF SEPTEMBER 16, 2008
The City Council of Medina, Minnesota met in special session on September 16, 2008 at
6:03 p.m. in the Medina City Hall.
I. Call to Order
Members present: Weir, Cavanaugh, Crosby, Smith (arrived at 6:17 p.m.), Johnson
(arrived at 6:22 p.m.)

II. 2010-2030 Comprehensive Plan
Benetti provided an overview of the preliminary changes to the Comprehensive Plan as
recommended by the Metropolitan Council. Benetti also presented the comments
received from area jurisdictions.
Discussion was held on the acknowledgment of rental units in the affordable housing
calculation, permanent rural land use, five acres of suitable soils requirement, mixed -use -
business land use density distribution of 50/50 and other items related to the
Comprehensive Plan.
Staff was directed to make technical revisions discussed on the Comprehensive Plan and
to submit to the Metropolitan Council for official review.
Benetti outlined the projected timeline of the Met Council's review and their allowance
to review the Comprehensive Plan for up to 120 days.
III. Adjournment
The meeting was adjourned at 6:53 p.m.
