RESOLUTION NO. 83 -2177
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TEMPLE CITY ADOPTING THE 1983 SUPPLEMENT
TO THE STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR PUBLIC WORKS
CONSTRUCTION, 1982 EDITION
WHEREAS, the City adopted the Standard Specifications for
Public Works Construction, 1982 Edition on September 7, 1982, by
Resolution No. 82 -2101; and
WHEREAS, members of the Southern California Chapters of
the American Public Works Association and the Associated General
Contractors of California working as a Joint Cooperative Com-
mittee have prepared the 1983 Supplement to the Standard Speci-
fications for Public Works Construction, 1982 Edition; and
WHEREAS, a uniformity of standards will serve to minimize
conflict and confusion in public works construction and will
tend to lower construction costs for future public works projects
through competitive bidding by private contractors; and
WHEREAS, the Superintendent of Streets and the City Engineer
were both represented on the. Committee which prepared the .1983
Supplement and have both recommended its adoption.
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Temple City
resolves that:
1. The 1983 Supplement to the 1982 Edition of the Standard
Specifications for Public Works Construction, Parts One through
Three, prepared by the APWA -AGC Joint Cooperative Committee of
Southern California, be adopted.
2. The City Clerk is directed to forward a certified copy
of this resolution to the County Road Commissioner as the City's
Superintendent of Streets and to the County Engineer as its
City Engineer.
ADOPTED and APPROVED this 19th day of July, 1983.
