PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT FOR ENGINEERING
SERVICES
WHEREAS, there exists a need for professional services for Tax Map Maintenance;
and
WHEREAS, engineering services are a professional service exempt from the
requirements of competitive bidding pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A: 11-5 (1)(a); and
WHEREAS, the Local Finance officer has certified that funds am available.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret does hereby approve the appointment of EKA ASSOCIATES at
a maximum cost not to exceed $5,000.00 billable as per attached contract.
-- BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and Municipal Clerk are hereby
authorized to execute said contract.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED, that the contract is awarded without competitive
bids in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A: 11-5(1)(a) due to the specialized nature of the
services provided.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED, that a notice of this action shall be published in the
Home News Tribune on March 2i, 2000.
