A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE
PURCHASE OF TWO (2) COMPACT PICK-UP
TRUCKS BY INFORMAL BIDDING FOR PUBLIC
WORKS DEPARTMENT AND AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO MAKE THE NECESSARY
FUND APPROPRIATION AND TRANSFER
WHEREAS, the intense Capital Improvement Project schedule
for FY 1993-94 requires extensive field work, such as marking of
~. utilities, surveying, inspections; and
WHEREAS, the one available pick-up truck does not provide
adequate transportation means for the engineering staff to
perform said field work; and
WHEREAS, the purchase of two (2) compact pick-up trucks with
communication radios is therefore necessary; and
WHEREAS, this vehicle purchase can be more economically and
efficiently effected if done through an informal bid; and
WHEREAS, under Section 6-3.13 of the Lynwood Municipal Code,
City Council can authorize purchases through informal bids by a
4/5 vote; and
WHEREAS, this purchase is estimated to cost $34,850.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does
hereby find, proclaim, order and resolve as follows:
Section 1. That the City Council determines that two (2)
compact pick-up trucks retrofitted for compressed natural gas use
and with communication radios be purchased for the Engineering
Division, and this can be more efficiently and economically
effected by an informal bid procedure.
Section 2. That the City Manager is authorized to make
the.following appropriations and transfers:

Unappropriated Fund Balance
$34,850 $34,850
Section 3. That eligible CIP projects be charged rental for
the use of these two (2) compact pick-up trucks for a period of
not to exceed 2 years at a rate of $40.00/day/vehicle.
Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect
immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 2nd day of
November 1993.
