HomeMy Public PortalAboutOrdinances-2003-262 (2) CITY OF TIFFIN ORDINANCE NO. 2 0 o3-261 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE SEWER ORDINANCES OF TIFFIN, IOWA BE IT ENACTED by the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa: . Section I. Purpose: The purpose of this ordinance is to provide an exception to the requirement of mandatory sanitary sewer hook-ups for all buildings in the City if the system is established for educational purposes, is operated by an educational institution, is limited to 500 gallons a day of flow, and otherwise meets all relevant State, County and City standards for the operation of a waste water treatment program. Section II. Repeal. All prior ordinances in conflict with this provision are hereby repealed. On the 14thday of May 2003, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa, Councilperson Bartels introduced Ordinance N o. 2003-261 , and moved that it be given its first reading. The motion was seconded by Councilperson Shaffer Ayes: Shaffer, Bartels, Dils and Huedepohl Nays: None. Absent: Gericke Four members of the council being present and having voted "Aye", Mayor Glenn R. Potter declared the motion carried, and Ordinance No. 2001-761 , was read the first time and discussed and placed on record. Thereupon, it was moved by Councilperson Shaffer and seconded by Councilperson Bartels that the laws and rules providing that ordinances be considered and voted on for passage at two council meetings prior to the meeting at which it is to be finally passed be suspended and dispensed with and that Ordinance No. 2003-261 be placed on its last reading. Ayes: Shaffer, Dils, Bartels, and Huedepohl None. Potter declared the motion carried, and Ordinance No. 2003-261 ' , was then placed on its last reading and was read the last time. Thereupon, it was moved by Councilperson Huedepohl and seconded by Councilperson Shaffer that Ordinance No. 2003-261 be placed upon its final passage and adopted. Ayes: Dils, Shaffer, Bartels, Huedepohl None. Absent: Gericke Nays: Four members of the council being present and having voted "Aye", Mayor Glenn R. Potter declared the motion carried, and the ordinance was passed and adopted. Whereupon the mayor declared that Ordinance No.2 0 0 3-2 61 be adopted and signified his approval of same by fixing his signature thereto. Passed by the council on the 14 day of May 2003, and approved by the mayor on the 1 4th day of May 2003. GLENN R.
