Absent: Cindy Bingham (Selectman),Joan Carstenjen, Roberta Murphy and Jim O'Leary Guest: Chris Miller Meeting began at 2:30pm. Approve November 18. 2016 minutes: November 18th minutes were not approved to due to not enough members present. ]Director's Report: Claire is still working on trying to get information about a Braille Trail. She is trying to connect with Perkins School for the Blind, MA Office of Disabilities, Dennis Recreation & Parks and the National Organization of the Blind to get some guidelines. There has been talk about the Drummer Boy Park or behind Stony Brook School. The school has been dismissed, as it would interfere with school and the students. Chris Miller's Rep= Paine's Creek: He is constantly evaluating the erosion and re-grading the slope to the water. A removable mat would work best in that area, similar to the one at Breakwater Beach. Chris will get a quote for the mat. Beach Wheelchair: Denise mentioned that due to the new Fire Station construction project, the beach wheelchairs cannot be housed in our medical supply shed, therefore they will remain in the basement of the Senior Center. Chris mentioned that maybe we can ask Kyle, at the Visitor's Center, to house one and allow patrons to us, as their office if open on a daily basis. As for the 2nd beach wheelchair, Chris will look into a portable shed for Paine's Creek. Currently, there are platforms at Linnell Landing, Quivett Creek and Long Pond. Slough Pond has a new ramp for boats and they will be removing the handicap sign for parking,as the terrain is too steep. Ellis Landing is evaluation a mat and road to the beach. Crosby Landing is evaluating a culvert for storm water planning, a boardwalk type walkway with railing on the west side from the Mansion parking lot, going thru the marsh area and to the beach. The Bikeway Committee is looking at a bike trail off the Cape Cod Rail Trail to a Brewster beach, which would be east of Linnell Landing and thru state property. We still have an issue with a few telephone poles on 6A that are located in the middle of the sidewalk. Chris will mention to Patrick Ellis to see if when the construction company returns to finish the 2nd half of Main Street, that they add the paving surface on the inside of the pole to allow proper space for a wheelchair to travel on the sidewalk. O1dINew Business: Judy mentioned that the Golf Course's driving range is not accessible for a handicapped person. Chris mentioned that the area would need to be redesigned to accommodate a handicap person. There is also interest of putting an automatic door opener on the rear door to the hallway, as when the Caf6 is closed, the clients cannot enter the building to use the bathroom. Other business not anticipated by the chair: None Our next meeting is scheduled for Friiday, February 17 2017 at 2:30pm at the Brewster Police Station, Adjournment: Meeting adjourned at 3:20pm.
