RESOLUTION AFFIRMING THE PUBLIC WORKS OPERATION
MANAGER'S APPOINTMENT OF AXEL PEREZ TO THE POSITION
OF PART-TIME SEASONAL LABORER
WHEREAS, the City of Riverdale, Iowa ("City") is a municipal corporation, organized and operating under
the laws of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, the part-time position of Seasonal Laborer in the Public Works department is a newly created
position and has not been previously filled; and,
WHEREAS, the Public Works Operations Manager, Clerk, Deputy Clerk, and a Council member conducted
interviews to determine the candidate who is the best match for the needs of the City; and,
WHEREAS, the Public Works Operations Manager has chosen Axel Perez to fill the part-time Seasonal
Laborer position in the Public Works department with a start date of May 30, 2023, and an hourly rate of
$17.50/hour, up to 34 hours per week, from the date of hire until and through August 20, 2023; and,
WHEREAS, the funding sources for this action are:
50% - #001-430-6010 Parks - Wages
30% - #001-650-6010 City Hall - Wages
10% - #001-210-6010 Streets - Wages
10% - 001-298-6010 Storm Sewer - Wages
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Riverdale, Iowa, that:
Section 1: The Public Works Operations Manager is authorized to appoint Axel Perez as part-time
Seasonal Laborer in the Public Works department for the City of Riverdale, Iowa.
